All-on-4® implant-anchored dentures are an innovative tooth restoration technique that can be an effective solution for patients dissatisfied with the limitations presented by traditional, unsecured dentures. Because this implant dentures method is designed to restore multiple rows of missing teeth, individuals who have lost several of their natural teeth or all of their teeth can benefit from the state-of-the-art implant system. A unique form of dental restoration, All-on-4® implants strategically place four dental implants into the appropriate sections of your mouth to act as an anchor for a set of natural-looking, custom-designed dentures. After the procedure, patients can enjoy a new set of replacement teeth in the upper and/or lower arches for a lower cost and shorter treatment time when compared to other restoration options. With All-on-4® implants, many patients can achieve a brand new smile with high-quality replacements in just one day.
Candidates for All-on-4® Implants
This advanced implant procedure can benefit a variety of patients. If you are displeased with the current demands of your partial or full dentures, All-on-4® implants can provide you with a solution that eliminates the inconvenience of slippage along gums and the need for messy adhesives. Patients who are not good candidates for a full set of dental implants can typically benefit from the All-on-4® technique. Our Eureka dentists, Eric Klumb, DDS and Mike Menolascino, DDS, can evaluate your specific dental needs and recommend the restorative dentistry treatment most beneficial to you.
All-on-4® Dental Implants Procedure
Following a thorough consultation and analysis of your current teeth’s color, size, shape and overall bite, we can create a customized set of new teeth that will be designed to look and function just like your natural teeth. The All-on-4® procedure utilizes four special dental implants, placed by an oral surgeon, that allow for the immediate placement of your new teeth. There is no need for bone grafting during this process. Your permanent implants can be placed in areas of already existing, quality bone. You should be able to leave the same day of your All-on-4® procedure with a set of new, non-removable, fixed teeth. These teeth, however, are transitional and can be replaced following full integration within four to six months with a more durable prosthesis. For minimal adjustment and recovery, your current dentures can typically be used as transitional teeth.
Gentle oral conscious sedation can also be included with the procedure and both Dr. Klumb and Dr. Menolascino will help to find an oral surgeon that fits your needs and desires. Typically, All-on-4® can be completed in just one day with minimal recovery time. Upon completion of treatment, your teeth should offer many years of comfort, beauty, and functionality.
Benefits of All-on-4®
There are a number of benefits our patients can enjoy following All-on-4® treatment, including:
- Quick procedural and recovery times – typically only one day needed to complete treatment and most patients can resume normal activities the next day
- Cost-effective – generally more affordable than traditional dental implants
- Long-term results – many patients can enjoy their new teeth for a lifetime
- Simplified maintenance – teeth can usually be cleaned just like natural teeth
- Restores functionality and the ability to eat, drink, and speak normally
- Alleviates bad breath associated with dentures
- Reduces fears of teeth falling out
- Enhances appearance with beautiful, natural-looking teeth
After the Procedure
There may be some sensitivity in your new teeth following the procedure – this is a normal sensation that should dissipate with time. Normal daily activities can generally be resumed the day after treatment; however, it is recommended that you chew carefully for a few weeks as you grow accustomed to your new teeth. You will typically be able to exert full function of your teeth within six weeks. While All-on-4® implants don’t typically require any additional maintenance aside from daily brushing and flossing, patients should always undergo regular checkups and cleanings every six months.
The All-on-4® implant system is one of many different options we have to secure a denture. With many years of implant placement and restoration experience, Drs.
